A world of intrigue
Let go of your preconceptions and head to the Château de Chimay: whether it’s for a tour, a concert or a show in the small theatre, exploring this site also means entering the intriguing world of the oldest principality in Belgium. An impressive thousand-year-old building that has been totally renovated.
Upon entering the courtyard of the château, you are immediately impressed by its imposing façade. You can then discover the inside of the castle by touring its different rooms, like the chapel and the dining room. You can tour on your own or with a guide, who will offer exciting details and a more interactive approach. If you’re feeling brave, you can take an interactive tour of the castle with a smartphone and an app.
If you’re lucky, you’ll meet the occupants of the castle, the princes and princesses of Chimay, who are always happy to share anecdotes about this site that are dear to their hearts.
Escape game
If you want to try a unique experience inside the castle, you can take on the escape game, which challenges you to find the missing Prince of Chimay. How? You have one hour to solve puzzles and find the sword, relics of his ancestors and the Holy Grail!
Good old mini golf
If you’re more partial to outdoor activities, mini golf is an option. The challenge is to move through the holes in as few hits as possible. A different kind of challenge, but equally fun.

The castle brings the city to life all year long through a number of events, such as the Christmas market or trails for running. The itineraries are varied, plentiful and waiting for you.
