Fagnes Brewery
150 years of beer history
This brewery is an iconic part of the Petites Fagnes in Mariembourg, thanks to the tour of the brewery, the meal tasting and the child-friendly area. The reviews are clearly unanimous: everyone is won over by the incredible time they spend here.

A tour of one of the only open breweries in Wallonia
The Fagnes Brewery is one of the only breweries in Wallonia that is open to visitors. You can discover the different vats, how ingredients are put together and the process on-site with an expert guide. The volume is fairly significant too – think thousands of litres.
Brewing takes place from Tuesday to Saturday. This is a real opportunity to see brewers at work. A pump system is present for the purpose of serving freshly brewed beer.
Naturally, when the tour is done, you have the chance to taste a beer.
The small museum next to the brewery is also enjoyable. This museum traces the history of more than four generations of brewers since 1858. You’ll love the old car and the cast-iron plates.
A varied menu (with mussels, when in season) and a space for kids
In this former club with the look of a fake mill, you can taste local seasonal produce: game dishes at the end of the year, mussels in summer and autumn and other dishes from our ancestors.
The servings are generous and really tasty.
Another advantage for families: the play area for kids. You can enjoy a meal together, then they can let off steam in the outdoor playground or on the inside course. This is quite relaxing for parents. While you can watch the little ones from a distance, you can also have a quiet chat without being interrupted.
A very welcoming and friendly staff
Although this site can accommodate many people, it does not feel crowded.
Though this is far from a small artisanal brewery, you can really admire the modern facilities. The facilities here are sophisticated and carefully designed. You can’t help but be proud of the success of this wonderful local set-up, especially when you remember that the brewery is now exporting internationally.
On occasion, you can even meet the boss, who is quick to greet customers.
The hospitality is also greatly appreciated. The staff is very pleasant and, despite the fact that lots of tables can be occupied from time to time, you always get service with a smile.
Booking is advised on weekends. This hidden gem is beginning to become well know and attract a lot of people. It would be a shame to get there and not be able to enjoy it.
